Since Mount Nebo Full Gospel Baptist Church was established on April 13, 1997, God has abundantly showered his blessing upon us. We began with holding our church services at the Tara Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut. During this time, Bible Study, Prayer Service, and Choir Rehearsals were held at Pastor Nelson and First Lady Nelson's home in Norwalk, Connecticut.
After a few months of diligently searching to find a place to call home, we moved into the Old Well Lodge at 5 Gregory Boulevard in East Norwalk, Connecticut on October 5, 1997. This was truly a joyous day because it was another step towards fulfilling Pastor Nelson's vision. Also, we had finally found a place where we could call home.
Each service that we have is a blessing, but in our brief history there are two services that standout as landmark occasions. The first occurred on November 30, 1997. On this date, Deacon Roosevelt Franklin became our first deacon to be ordained at Mount Nebo and his wife, Deaconess Bridget Franklin became our first sister to be given the charge of deaconess. The second noteworthy event occurred on September 27, 1998 when Minister James Todd Wilkinson became our first member to be presented with his license to preach the Gospel.
After the passing of our founder the late Bishop Wallace Nelson, God sent us a new solider. On September 25, 2010 Pastor Anthony Lee was installed as Pastor of Mount Nebo Full Gospel Baptist Church. Again, with the diligent help and steadfastness of the Mount Nebo Baptist Church Trustee Board and Pastor Lee, the Lord made a way for us to purchase our new church building located at 360 Colorado Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Under the leadership of Pastor and Lady Lee the Lord has continued to advance the membership of Mount Nebo.
Then, on June 13, 2021 Roosevelt Franklin who faithfully served as Minister, Chairperson, and Co-Chairperson of the Mt Nebo Deacon Board under the leadership and counsel of Pastor Anthony Lee and Evangelist Carrie Lee was yet called again to go higher in his walk to become an Elder and now Pastor of the Mount Nebo Full Gospel Baptist Church.
Our late Bishop Wallace Nelson always stressed the need to guide and influence our youth in a positive manner. Through the grace of God, we accomplished this by having Friday Night Study Hall, Vacation Bible School and Teen Rap Sessions. Mt. Nebo plans to continue engaging their youth in Christ well into the future.
The Lord has truly blessed us with dedicated members and our membership continues to grow. Pastor Franklin, under the guidance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, fosters an environment that is conducive to obtaining spiritual enlightenment. We know that if we keep our hands in the Lord's hand, greater things are to come.
The vision of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship is
CHANGE:
The vision of our church is to align our spiritual and natural lives with the teachings of Jesus Christ, to develop community outreach programs, and to foster an environment conducive to the education of both the young and old in keeping with the vision of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship and the vision our church.
Our vision is to stay focused on the work of God because we've come this far by Faith. Leaning on the Lord; Trusting in His Holy Word, He's never failed us yet. Oh we can't turn around now, we've come this far by faith.
HISTORY OF MOUNT NEBO
Mount Nebo is significant because of its role in the Old Testament. The Bible says that Mount Nebo was the place where Moses lived out his final days and where he saw the Promised Land, which he would never get to enter. It is said that Moses' body may be buried here, although that has yet to be proven.
DEUTERONOMY 34:1-4
1 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the Lord showed him the whole land from Gilead to Dan, 2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea., 3 the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar. 4 Then the Lord said to him, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, "I will give it to your descendants. I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it."
Our Church is full of people who are willing to help those that are less fortunate by providing food and clothing to the homeless.
Our mission is to continue helping non-profit organizations like the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, the Helping Hands ministry, and countless others who need the support of the church.
We see the need and we're willing to do our part to help to those that can't help themselves just as Jesus directed the church in Corinth.

1 Corinthians 12:4-5
There are different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
1 Peter 4:10
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various offices.
Romans 12:4-6a
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many from one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
